CT Services
At our Houston and Beaumont Clarus Imaging Centers, our CT scanner is the GE Lightspeed QX/i, which is the world’s first multi-slice scanner and the current leader in imagery technology. At our Baytown Center, our CT scanner is the GE Discovery ST.
In a CT scanning process, the patient lies on a bed, with the body part under examination placed at the opening of the scanner. The scanner then takes pictures of the body without touching the patient, as the bed moves slowly backwards and forwards. The length of the test depends on the number of pictures and the different angles taken.
For certain procedures, a liquid x-ray dye may need to be injected into the veins for better clarity of organs or blood vessels in the processed readings.
